The SSC-Khatumo administration has accused Somaliland of inciting conflict in the Sool region following new fighting between the two administrations in the Yayle and Buqdharkayn areas in the region over the last two days.
In a statement, the administration stated that the Somaliland army, under the command of President Muse Bihi Abdi, launched an ambush on the nomadic people living in the Yayle area on November 6, which escalated into fighting between the Somaliland army and SSC forces.
The Sool, Sanag, and Ayn areas, collectively known as SSC-Khatumo, displayed ten prisoners, including high-ranking officers, along with military vehicles and weapons that they claimed were captured from Somaliland during the fighting. They also emphasized that President Muse Bihi deploys troops daily to the Oog frontline.
Somaliland also claimed victory in the battle, stating that a battalion of specially trained troops participated in the Wednesday’s clash.
The newly formed SSC administration has called on the federal government and the international community to work towards ending the conflict, asserting that Muse Bihi is fulfilling his promise to continue the war.
